One Pass Learning System Template Introduction

 

NOTE: Courses of Study are just a series of Definitions of Terms. If you're taking a course, and you miss the definition of as little as ONE key word, you may come to the end of the course and fail the final exam. The single most critical aspect of the One-Pass Learning System is how the Key Words of the course are dealt with. The "Learners" must understand the definitions of the terms used in the course. The application of the words throughout the course is how the understanding of the course material is developed. Assume a given course of study will have approximately 1,000 key words used in the course. The identification and definition of these terms is the first consideration in developing the curriculum.

 

General Format

Part of the One-Pass Learning System Program is dedicated to prerequisites and review of prerequisite course material with quiz and test questions, answers and references. There must be a review of the foundation, base of knowledge/skill, to relate the new course material to. One of the Laws of Learning is: You never learn anything new, you only add to existing knowledge and/or skill. This is WHY the prerequisite requirement and WHY the prerequisite review. This lets the Learner know where they're starting from.

 Then the Learner must understand what the end objective of the course of study is so they know where they're going to. Therefore, an overview of the course will be presented with the objective of the course tied to real-world application of the material. This is the whole of the course. 

All of the key words of the new course (the course language Key Words) would be written over appropriate pictures, defined with dictionary definitions and used in applicable written sentences. Only the key words from the course of study are presented – your Brain will make up the sentences. Spoken words will be accompanied with music and sound effects. Before and during the course material presentation, the course material will be reinforced with Key Word definitions, historical encyclopedia references and practical application statements.

The Course material is presented with appropriate pictures, words, sounds, and written text material from multiple texts assembled by topic to reinforce a given topic (the different parts of the course), i.e, US History – War of 1812 as presented in ten different text books, which gives ten different points of view (POV). The Major Topics of the course are dealt with as separate parts of the whole.

The last section of the course is the summary, pulling all the parts back together with a final review of the Key Words & definitions with Questions & answers and problem solving application. In the Laws of Learning terms this technique is called Whole – Part – Whole or Introduction – Body – Summary.

 

Template Concept

            The One-Pass Learning System concept is to use all of the known technology to accelerate the learning process. Therefore this System applies: current video and audio technology, PhotoReading techniques, subliminal programming, definition of Key Words, Alpha State, Brain stimulating sounds, appropriate pictures, repetition, real world application, test questions with answers and references and multiple texts in an entertaining and seamless production.

 

Layout

  • ½ second video cuts (scene changes – like MTV & Commercials)
  • Eight – 15 minute segments each containing 1800 frames of information

Course specific Key Words would appear for 14 frames in ½ second with:

  • Key Word Printed on screen (spelling)
  • Key Word Pronounced (voice – male and female alternated)
  • Key Word Picture (visual – worth a thousand words &/or application)
  • Background music (Brain stimulating audible input)
  • Sound effects (emphasis)

 

The 15th frame for the course specific Key Words would contain the printed material:

  • The Key Word
  • Derivation of the Key Word
  • Dictionary definition of the Key Word
  • First level Dictionary definition of words used in the primary Dictionary definitions
  • Second level Dictionary definition of words used in the first level Dictionary definitions
  • Key Word Synonyms (similar to)
  • Dictionary definition of Synonyms
  • Key Word Antonyms (opposite to)
  • Dictionary definition of Antonyms
  • Key Word Derivation
  • Encyclopedia information – history and application of the Key Word
  • Application of the Key Word in at least three textbook sentences
  • Use of the Key Word in at least one quiz or test question

 

Once the "Key Word ½ second frames" are created, they can be used throughout the course material prior to the Key Word being used in the material (repetition). By using graphic layering of these ½ second frames, the pictures, voices and the location of the printed word on the picture can all be changed easily. This insures multiple repetitions, depictions, variety of sensory inputs and actual application of the words.

If 1 hour of the DVD is dedicated to the actual course material, that's 120 visual and spoken words/minute X 60 minutes = 7,200 visual and spoken words plus 7,200 frames of pictures (worth a thousands words each), key words (written on the pictures), voice (pronunciation and explanation of the key words and phrases) and pages of text. That's over ten, 720 page textbooks worth of information. Problem solving applications would be presented with quiz and test questions, answers and references. This would all be downloaded into the body's memory cells.

Template Format

Alpha State – Alert Trance

The Alpha State quiets the Conscious Brain putting the Learner into Alert Trance so the data can be downloaded directly into the Subconscious Brain, bypassing the "filter" network. The data are received by the sensory system, stored in the memory banks and tied to existing knowledge and skill.

 

NOTE: This session and understanding how Alpha State works and what it does is essential to the success of the One-Pass Learning System

 

NOTE: A Brain Stimulating sound, which fires-up the brain and readies it to gather data will be the background sound in the Alpha State CD.* Added onto the end of this CD session would also be Brain Stimulating sounds for an additional 30 minutes.

    Using the Template Format to Create a One-Pass Course

     

    How to Put the Course on a Two Hour DVD in Eight 15 Minute Sessions. The reason for 15-minute program sessions is, the learner can do one or any number of sessions at a time, or review any specific section as needed. This also allows for shorter courses using the same template – just remove some of the middle sessions.
