Body/Brain – Soul/Mind
Preface
It is my intent to write an Oxymoron: fun, educational, informative, entertaining, self-improvement book (fun and education don’t go together, and in this book, Body and Soul don’t fit well either – Oxymoron). To accomplish this, I must take nothing serious, especially the Body trying to survive, or the instigator of our situations and circumstances, the Soul. If I don’t take the Soul seriously, then this can be extrapolated out to mean I don’t take the Spirit World or God serious.
I don’t!
If this concept concerns or is offensive to you, maybe, if you just look around, you’ll see why this viewpoint is important. Consider the creation process – take a horse, give it long legs, a long neck, two horns and paint it polka dotted – you get a giraffe – God did it. Take another horse, armor plate it, and give it a long horn on its elongated nose – you get a rhinoceros – God did it. Take a monkey, remove most of the hair and the tail, shorten the arms, make it stand upright – you get man – God did it. All three of those creatures are hilarious, so God has to have a well developed sense of humor. Crank in all the different kinds of life and the events these things have happened to them and, if you can get out of what you’ve been taught and put your emotions to rest, its all very entertaining and funny. The “Cosmic Joker” – God the creator – at work.
The Problem
We react to stimuli without conscious thought. Our drive to procreate is over fifty times more powerful than our conscious thought. Our emotions are over twenty times more powerful than our conscious thought. The wee-small-voice (intuitive – all knowing Spiritual connection) is drowned-out by the constant chatter of the Brain trying to survive.
The Cost
Given our inherent and inherited capabilities humans are way underachieving. In spite of our achievements in the last 100 years, we are on the brink of extinction. We are building crude instruments – computers – and not utilizing our built-in computers – Brains.
The Solution
Gain cooperation between the dual entity we are and step into our greatness. This book was written to raise the awareness of what we are, how we function and our potential to BE, DO and HAVE our hearts desire by gaining cooperation between the Body/Brain and the Soul/Mind.
Perspective Change
In the throws of passion, on my knees in the side-saddle position, straddling my wife’s left leg, grasping her right shoulder with my left hand for leverage and holding her right leg with my right hand, humping away, sweating, breaths coming in gasps, eyes closed, back arching . . . and poof, a perspective change – I’m standing across the room watching.
Observing myself, the thought, Interesting position.
I stopped and said to the voyeur, “Get your ass back over here and never do that again.”
“Who?” My wife asked between gasps. “What’s going on?”
“I’ll be right back, just got to get myself back together.”
After finishing my duty, I tried to explain what had happened. “Well . . . when I stopped while we were making love, I was over there watching and talking to myself. But I’m confused, because, if I was over there and I talked to myself – what was that?”
“That doesn’t make sense, I didn’t hear anything but you.”
“You’re right, it doesn’t make sense, but it happened, it was real. I couldn’t make that up, it was too bizarre.”
I’ve never had “third-person views” during sex again, but since the event, I’ve had multiple Out of Body Experiences (OBEs) as a third person observer. Some of the “third-person views” tended to occur during conversations and provided insight into interpersonal relationships and personality development. As the observer, you get a much more objective perspective about what’s going on, with no emotional involvement.
Death, Near Death Experiences & Out-of-Body Experiences Perspective
During Death/Near Death Experiences (NDEs) the body stops breathing and the heart stops beating – clinical death – and the viewer is the Soul. One of my Death/NDE/OBE was leaning against the wall of the emergency room watching the medicos fill my body back full of blood and jump-start me.
The question, “If the body was clinically dead, what was standing across the room watching?” With no reasonable, rational explanation, I started a quest to figure out what the observer/voyeur was.
With each General Anesthetic used during operations, the body is rendered unconscious, so there is no conscious awareness of pain. The question: “Where does the Conscious Brain go during these operations?” My Soul took trips – Out-of-Body-Experiences – counseling sessions – otherworld views.
Past Life Regression
I saw vivid scenes from some of my past-lives shown to me while alert and awake, not under hypnosis. These images and past lifetimes explained several pushes/pulls in this life.
Did these scenes, which explained so much, come from my ancestral knowledge passed down in my DNA? Was it from something I ate, breathed or drank? Or were they from my Soul’s past lives baggage – Karma – brought into this incarnation?
Separate Entities
I’ve experienced the two entities – both me – in different situations. So the question is, “What role do the separate and distinct entities, the Body and the Soul, play in and unto themselves and with each other?” The other question is, “Who, which entity, am I – really?”
Based on my own personal experiences, it appears the Body and the Soul operate independent of each other but are in constant communications. How? I haven’t a clue, but it works, like split screen TV showing two different programs/channels/views of an event on the same screen at the same time. The sound is like stereo, because one channel is what the Body is saying/thinking/seeing while the other channel is what the Soul is saying/thinking/seeing. The interaction is like a video editor looking at two monitors, of the same scene, from two different camera angles with stereo sound and different viewpoints – at the same time. The “third-person views” the Soul takes when the Body is conscious, unconscious or dead must therefore involve two separate but connected entities.
The Questions
While researching and writing it’s my goal to avoid preconceived ideas, mine or anyone else’s. Because, what if . . . what we think we know is skewed, incorrect or incomplete?
The 50% rule. Over 50% of everything we have seen, heard, read or were taught is not true. I know, from experience, everything we think we “know for a fact” is skewed and not necessarily true. Water and Air are both living organisms – does this concept alone change how we perceive life on the Planet Ocean? If we change how we look at things, the things we look at change.
The question I asked was, “What is the difference between body, soul, brain and mind?”
It seemed most people have at least a basic concept of the Body and Soul as separate and different entities. Otherwise, there would be no “life after death” concept. Experiencing OBEs and Past Live regression has convinced me of differences between the Body and the Soul. Knowing, as a result of my arm amputation, there is a difference between the Phantom (Soul) and Nerve-Pain (Body) helped in understanding additional differences.
Then I began to notice in conversation and reading, the terms brain and mind appeared to be used interchangeably. This brought up the next questions, “If the Body and Soul are separate, what if . . . the brain and mind are separate/different also?” “If the brain/mind are different . . . who/what is making the decisions and choices?”
I’d never really thought about it before, but it’s critically important if you‘re trying to be a rational, proactive person. You think about it (thinking is asking questions).
What role does the human body Sensory System play in making a decision? What role does the human brain Central Processing Unit play in making a decision? How does the human brain make a decision? What factors are involved in making a decision? What role, if any, does the Soul play in making a decision? Is the Soul just a passive passenger in the body vehicle, is it the Operator of the Body, or not and does it have a combination of functions? If the Soul wrote the script, doesn’t it have a vested interest in “Directing” the Body to act out the script – against the Body’s will? If the Soul is more than a “passive passenger,” how is it involved in getting the scripted “Life Play” acted out? Is the Soul a “thinking and decision making” part of the equation? What if . . . the Soul’s “thinking device” is the mind? How does the Soul’s Mind function in a human’s life? If the Body’s “Will” is involved in a “choice,” will the Body or Soul win? Is there conflict between the “Will” based choices of the two different entities? Who’s in control? Oops, my job is to simplify, not complicate, but you needed to be involved in the questions which led me to write the book.
Are you beginning to realize something profound? Does schizophrenia come to brain/mind? If two separate but connected, decision-making entities are “running your life,” how can “you” (who/what/whichever that is) get in control?
Which one of the entities is in “control” of which programs? Which entity decides what? Do the entities ever disagree and if they do, who wins the argument? Without knowing this, how can I hope to get in control of my life, and which “I” is supposed to be in-control, when?
Worse yet, am I just the ball in the pin-ball machine of life being paddled a lot?
Are you still there? Are you a little bit confused? Welcome to my world. This is brand new thinking for me, and I’m trying to remain open and unbiased. I’m convinced, to receive the right answers, I have simply to ask the right questions, the right way and be ready.
The Title of the Book
I believe understanding the concept of the duality of the Body/Soul entities will help in understanding what’s going on in this life. And if the Body has a Brain, then the Soul must have a similar to but much improved thinking and computing device – a Mind.
From this bit of mental gymnastics came the book title – Body/Brain – Soul/Mind.
Then more epiphanies – The two entities appear to have different and separate reasons for being – agendas. The two entities appear to be constantly at war with one another. So the sub-title – Two Entities, With Different Agendas, Equals War
Let the game begin!
