Wisdom & Knowledge
Def. Knowledge – is defined variously as: expertise, and skills acquired by a person through experience or education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject, what is known in a particular field or in total; facts and information or awareness or familiarity gained by experience of a fact or situation. Philosophical debates in general start with Plato’s formulation of knowledge as “justified true belief.” There is however no single agreed definition of knowledge presently, nor any prospect of one, and there remain numerous competing theories.
Knowledge acquisition involves complex cognitive processes: perception, learning, communication, association and reasoning. The term knowledge is also used to mean the confident understanding of a subject with the ability to use it for a specific purpose if appropriate.
Learning occurs ONLY when our behavior changes. In educational terms, “By the end of this lesson, you will be able to . . .” Able to involves an active verb and requires a skill activation. Gaining knowledge for the sake of knowledge is just entertainment. You have to do something with it to activate it so you can use it to solve problems. That’s why, with in 90 days after leaving school, most students have “lost” 90% of what they were supposed to learn – proven in retests.
The Bible says, “My people perish from a lack of Knowledge.” Our Legislated, Compulsory Schooling System took that to mean simply “Knowledge.” So we’ve been being crammed full of knowledge – facts, figures, names and dates – so we wouldn’t perish.
The Compulsory Schooling System established a grading system – Grade Point Average (GPA) – to measure how much “knowledge” the students learned. Then they devised a test to determine the Intelligence Quotient (IQ) of the students which was supposed to give an indication of the students’ capability to learn in the Compulsory Schooling System. With these two “labeling systems” each student was “tagged” as to how well they would perform in the System. Once tagged, students were presupposed to a performance level and/or capability which would determine what they were taught (a trade or college prep).
A more correct interpretation of the original Bible is, “My people perish from a lack of Restraint.” So for over 2,000 years we’ve been filling our heads full of knowledge and we’re still lacking in restraint – due to misinterpretation. I wonder what else was presented incorrectly.
Def. Restrain – to prevent from doing something, to set limits, to repress emotions, to deprive of civil liberties
Def. Restraint – a restraining or holding back, avoidance of exaggeration, the natural restraints of conduct imposed by small communities, in any form of expression without restraint freely, no holding back, maintaining control of self in voice and deed.
NOTE: If you lack restraint you’re going to SIN (go against the society/religious rules and laws) and be held accountable via guilt and shame, which will allow someone or some entity to control you. I wonder if that was the intent in the misinterpretation – crowd control? Neither the IQ score nor the level-of-knowledge-gained (GPA) are indicators of future success in life. Look around.
The Compulsory Schooling System missed a few other “Quotients” which really determine how well a person deals with life and success. For example:
Intelligence Quotient, Emotional Quotient, Financial Quotient, Spiritual Quotient, Adversity Quotient
To find out more about the Quotients read Body/Brain – Soul/Mind – Cooperation or War – Your Choice – to read the book review and the first chapter, go to www.Lance-Rennka.com
Since emotions lead to feelings, which lead to actions, the single most important “restraint” is control of our emotions. Since our emotions are our emotions, we can gain control.
NOTICE: Only one of the “Quotients” is taught or considered in the Compulsory or Higher Educational programs. I’ve been checking and so far I’ve not found one course of study listed in the high or college catalogues for: Emotional Intelligence 101, Financial Intelligence 101, Spiritual Intelligence 101 or Adversity Intelligence 101 – DUH! Also, you’d think if education was all about learning, there’d be a course somewhere called Learning 101. So I dreamed-up a couple of solutions and they’re available on this website – Learning @ the Speed of Download and Life 101 The Building Blocks of Life – What you need to know before you become responsible.
Einstein said, “Imagination is more important than Knowledge.” The reason imagination is so important, is it’s the multiplier of knowledge. Our Compulsory Education System says, “Sit down, shut-up, pay attention and quit daydreaming – we’re going to teach you something.”
Imagination – dreaming – is how mankind has evolved. Everything we eat, drink, live in, wear, travel in, cook with, play with, work with and entertain with – are all the results of imagination. We identify a problem and “imagine” (dream-up) a solution. If we act on the solution, we solve problems. If other people think our idea is a good solution, we get rich. If the idea was not received well or cost too much, we go bankrupt. Simple “evolutionary economics” and it works in everything we do. Turn on your inherent and inherited genius and Dream-on!
In order to learn anything, you have to be self-motivated. Knowledge (facts, figures, names and dates) + Skill (applied knowledge) + Attitude (self-motivation) + Time (Life Experience – problem-solving) = Learning (behavioral change – evolution)
If you’re ready, read K-12 Compulsory Education Doesn’t Work – you may not like the information it contains, but it does explain why our Compulsory Schooling System is regressing (getting worse each year) not progressing.
Def. Wisdom – is having gained knowledge, experience, and intuitive understanding, along with a capacity to apply these well. It is the judicious application of knowledge. To some extent the terms wisdom and intelligence have similar and overlapping meanings. Some see wisdom as a quality even a child, otherwise immature, may possess independently of experience or wide knowledge (conscience from Mind). The status of wisdom or prudence as a virtue is recognized in cultural, philosophical and religious sources. Some define wisdom in a utilitarian sense, as foreseeing consequences and acting to maximize the long-term common good. As such, wisdom is viewed as consisting of ideals and principles that govern all actions and decisions.
Wisdom comes from Knowledge applied to Experience. Without application and use, knowledge does you little good.
There are many types of Wisdom, i.e. Health Wisdom, Relationship Wisdom, Spiritual Wisdom, Financial Wisdom and Environmental Wisdom. All are necessary to create the lifestyle you wish to enjoy.
Wisdom comes from knowledge applied to life experience. We must gather knowledge and apply it to life experiences to gain wisdom. Wisdom allows us to make better decisions-choices, which translates into a better lifestyle. Wisdom allows us to be proactive versus reactive to life’s situations and circumstances.
We ask, “GOD, give me wisdom!!!”
God’s answer, “Wisdom is earned . . . go get it.”

Back From Beyond – A True Story About Dying to Learn the Meaning of Life, is available as an e-book . This book, written by a humorist, is about the life lessons Lance learned from losing an arm, dying, standing across the operating room and watching the medicos fill his body back full of blood and jump start him (an Out-of-Body-Experience), seeing visions, and having epiphanies.
Body/Brain – Soul/Mind – Cooperation or War – Your Choice, is also available as an e-book. This book is about what we are, how the Body functions, how the Soul functions, how the Spirit world supports us, and how our combined entity power works when we learn to cooperate.
Learning @ the Speed of Download is the One-Pass Learning System Introduction and Template so you can take a four unit course of study, pre-school to Graduate School, Knowledge or Skill and produce a two hour DVD which anyone with the prerequisite requirements to take the course can watch one-time (One-Pass) and receive 90+% retention and retrieval for Life.
Programming – Life on Automatic is about how we were pre-programmed, how we are being programmed and how to “uninstall” the programs which are not serving us. Then how to install programs which will automatically cause positive responses to stimuli to produce what we want.
Life 101 The Building Blocks of Life is a series of booklets for teenagers so when they turn 18 and are responsible for their own decisions, they’ll be ready.
The Universal Laws is a compilation with explanations of the basic laws which govern our experiences on this plane of existence. The Laws work for everyone – even if you didn’t know they existed or what they were.
