Lance is a published author, in the Recreational SCUBA Industry, having written multiple Instructor Manuals and Student Texts published by Talara Development Enterprises, Ltd., Anacapa Press and Wanderlust Associates, Inc.

As a result of his Doctoral Dissertation on The Effect of the Diving Specialties on the Diving Industry, he published How to Make Money as a SCUBA Instructor. He has written for the American College Encyclopedia - Oceanology section.
